I feel compelled to correct a mistake in this article. Troy Seals is my great-uncle. He is not the brother of Dan or Jim Seals. (Distant cousins) His only brother was James Seals Jr (father to Deborah, Terry, James Dalton and Brady Seals) Brady Seals of the Little Texas and his own career as a singer-song writer. Troy has had an extrodinary career and I appreciate your article as a Johnny Cash fan myself.

In my freshman year at Vanderbilt Univ., I went ‘cross the street to Tex Ritter’s BBQ late one night-September, ’71-and while waiting for my food, in walk Neil Young and half a dozen raffish looking dudes. Just ’round the corner from Quadrafonic Studio on Grand. I couldn’t believe the picture above!

Hi Richard,

The house that’s due to become Cash’s ‘Graceland’ is his childhood home in Dyess, Arkansas not the one you picture. The house in Hendersonville, the one on the lake, burned down shortly after his death.
